Our 86th AGM took place last night, 26th January, and our Committee for 2012 is confirmed as follows:

Captain – Kenny Barbour
Vice Captain – Alex Paton
Match & Handicap – Dave Barr
Greens – Stuart Clayton
House - George Aitken
Junior – Michael McCormick
General Committee – John Scott, Mark Brodie, Pat Kelly, Margaret Loughrey, Billy McDonald and Hugh O’Donnell.

Annual subscriptions for the coming season are now available on the Membership page.

Texas Scramble – Sunday 19th Feb

We have a Texas Scramble competition scheduled for Sunday 19th February.

Entry fee is £10/team of 4. Payment at the Pro Shop and tee times can now be booked online until Sat 18th Feb @ 5pm or directly with the Pro.

Annual Report & AGM

The 2011 Annual Report and the Minutes of the AGM of Dec 2010 have now been distributed by email to all members who are eligible to receive it, and who have supplied a valid email address.

The AGM takes place on Thursday 26th January (7pm) and all members are welcome to attend.

Please note that the telephone lines are currently out after the storm earlier in the week, so if you have not received your copy please advise to email address secretary@crowwoodgolfclub.co.uk and a copy will be sent to you.

A number of printed copies of the Annual Report are available at the club (for viewing only) and a copy of the AGM minutes have been posted on the noticeboard.

Association of James Braid Courses Update

Attached is an updated list of all member clubs, including 50 that have joined since September.

Included in these are Goswick, Baberton, Dalmahoy, Bishops Stortford, Kirriemuir, Ilkley, Saltburn, Verulam and the King’s and Queen’s courses at Gleneagles to name but a few.

The association now numbers 153 courses, and there will be a few more joining between now and March. When we receive these we will circulate an updated list.

Christmas Dance

Bookings are now being taken for our Christmas Dance on 17th December.

Tickets cost £19, which includes a 3 course meal and a great night of live entertainment from The Mandelas.

Numbers are restricted so please confirm your booking ASAP with Andy.

(Please note that members who book places without paying for tickets will be charged if they do not come along on the night and have not cancelled in advance).

Gents Prizegiving

Tickets are now on sale (£20) for the annual Presentation of Prizes.

All members are invited to attend what is always a great occasion.

Ticket price includes 3 course meal and a still to be announced guest speaker.

Junior Coaching

Junior Convenor Michael McCormick has organised a junior winter golf coaching programme at Lochview Golf Centre in Coatbridge.

The coaching is for juniors with a current handicap who want to improve their game.

The programme consists of 10 one hour sessions (Sunday afternoons) at a cost of £67.00, which includes tuition from professional coaches Ian Graham & Scott Cleland, and unlimited use of golf balls at the Lochview range.

You will also get the use of the latest golf simulator to analyse your swing and to help with your putting technique.

Numbers are limited to the first 12 juniors and the programme starts very soon, so please contact Michael McCormick on 07910482432 or 0141 779 9211 ASAP to book your place.
