Having just recently announced his decision to turn professional, Ed Wood dropped by to talk to us.
“I decided early in 2011 that I wanted to make the step up to the professional ranks. I played in 11 SGU 72 hole events last year, making 9 cuts and playing solid all year. I felt the only way to improve was to play full time, so decided to go for it.
“I am delighted to be attached to Crow Wood Golf Club, and I am grateful the committee has allowed me to continue to use the facilities.
“My first event is Thursday and Friday 7th and 8th April at Slaley Hall in Hexham, and I can’t wait to get started.
“Thanks to everyone who has helped me over the last few months, and I will keep the club up to date with my results.”
Ed has been a great representative of the club at amateur level over the years, and I am sure we all wish him every success in the professional ranks. You can follow his progress at Slaley Hall on the Europro Tour website.
