Club Newsletter – 9th March 2018

It’s hard to imagine, just a week after the Beast From The East dumped well over a foot of snow on the course, that Spring is officially upon us and we’re only a few weeks away from the start of a brand new season.

Driving Range Update

Perhaps the biggest frustration of the terrible weather last week was the knock-on delays caused to the construction phase of the Driving Range bays, meaning that the erection of the bays themselves will commence on Monday 12th March – the constructors will be putting extra manpower into the project to get the bay structures built within the week, then it’s over to the joiners and electricians to finish the job off.

Based on this information, the likely handover date has been amended to Monday 26th March – we can only apologise for the  delay, and we will continue keep members up to date with developments.

Subscription Time

By the time you read this, you should have received notification of your 2018 Subscription Fee bill – if not, please check your spam filter, or call the office on 0141 779 4954.

All the standard payment methods – online transfer, cash, card payments over the phone or in person – are available, and there will be someone in the office every Saturday 10am – 1pm for the next 4 weeks if that suits you best.

Anyone paying by direct debit will receive notification of their payment schedule from April 2018.

“Recommend A Friend” Scheme

If you know of anyone who is looking to join a club, or could be tempted away from somewhere else, Crow Wood now offers a “Recommend A Friend” scheme – introduce a new Full or 5-Day member to the Club and not only will we give the new member Crow Wood crested goodies to the retail value of £60, but we’ll also credit your Loyalty Card with £60. It’s a perfect win/win situation!!!

Contact Ian McCartney on 0141 779 4954 for more details.

Members’ Benefit – Free Golf

A new initiative has been launched between Crow Wood and some not-so-local courses as a way to reward our loyal members – a “Reciprocal Plus” scheme is being run in conjunction with Tulliallan Golf Club (Clackmannanshire), Pitreavie Golf Club (Fife) and Harburn Golf Club (West Lothian) where members of each club can play the other courses on the list for free!

Each course will have its own restrictions, generally around their midweek Medal days and weeken, but if you want a wee away-day, simply call the Pro Shop at any of the clubs listed and book a time.

It is also hoped that 2 or 3 more clubs will be added to the list in due course (e.g. Peebles GC) – watch this space…

And Finally…

Darren Corr has taken over the running of the Gents Team in the Lanarkshire League for the new season, with the aim of putting Crow Wood back on the map. If interested, and singles match-play off bare feet is your game of choice, please email
